In our art program for Kindergarten and First Graders, students will build a foundational knowledge and understanding of visual art. Kindergarten and First grade will have art once a week. Students will learn about the building blocks of art, which are the elements of art such as line, shape, color, value, form, etc. In our program, students will familiarize themselves with various mediums, build technical knowledge and skills, and practice social-emotional learning through various fun art projects that give them opportunities for peer collaborations and artistic explorations. Through the artmaking process, students will practice a growth mindset, critical thinking, and self-reflection, which will be life-long skills they will take with them throughout their educational journey and beyond.
